Black History Month

Today, we launch Black History Month at the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa. A month dedicated to learning about the experiences and contributions of peoples of African descent. A time to celebrate African culture and success, but also a time to reflect on a history of oppression and violence.

At the forefront of our strategic plan is our commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, so while we launch this month with pride and purpose, our goals are not confined to the next 28 days.

Today, we highlight a few headlines from 2020; a year when the world acknowledged the magnitude of anti-black racism.
