Full-Time Opportunity (35 hrs/week)

 - From June 5, 2017 to August25,2017 (12 weeks) -


The Children’s Aid Society (CAS) of Ottawa is committed to protecting the children and youth of our community from abuse and neglect. We work in collaboration with community partners to ensure their well-being and to strengthen the capacity of families and the communities in which they live.

We are currently seeking for a dynamic student to provide routine supportive duties to a team of three (3) Records Administrators as they work through transitioning to a new record keeping system.  


Reporting to the Supervisor of Information Technology Services, the Records Student has responsibility for assisting in the everyday Society’s operations with regards to record management. In this capacity, the Student’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with projects to help alleviate critical backlog items
  • Responding to requests for information
  • Completing record searches and merging of duplicate records
  • Running internal record checks
  • Client registration
  • Other related administrative tasks


  • Current student enrolledin a 2-year Records or Information Management program or in other related field in a community college  (Note: Students who have completed their studies in April 2017 are also eligible to apply).
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in record management and retrieval.
  • Knowledgeable user of the following software products: ???
  • Proficiency in English (oral, written and comprehension).
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and moderately heavy objects.


  • Good judgment, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Strong customer service, planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clients, staff and external vendors.
  • Self-driven and ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.


  • Bilingualism (English & French).



Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We offer a competitive salary rate of $13.00 per hour. This includes 6% in lieu of insurable benefits and 5% of vacation pay.
